    Pursat province is located in the western part of Cambodia. It is the fourth biggest province.  It orders with Battambang, the Tonle Sap Lake, Kompong Chhnang to the north and north east, Kompong Speu, Koh Kong to the south, and Thailand to the south west.

    The name of Pursat refers to a type of tree in Cambodia. From Pursat,  it is very easy to access to both the Tonle Sap lake (35km far) and the Cardamom Mountains.

    Pursat town is the capital of Pursat. The city is located in the middle between the Tonle Sap Lake and the Cardamom Mountains on the bank of the Stung Pursat river. Pursat city is transport point of between Battambang and Phnom Penh.

    The favorite destination in Pursat is the marble workshops near the bridge on the main street. The precious marble stones exploit from the Cardamom Mountain, than they are brought here, followed up and sold near the Lam Siv Eng Restaurant. About 5 km from town is the tomb of Khleang Meung.

    Cardamom Mountains

    The Cardamom Mountains of Koh Kong and Pursat provinces are said to be the most pristine wilderness area remaining in Southeast Asia.

    On arrival Pursat, you could join in trekking tours which is guided by local guide. This ride you takes you through the deep area in Cardamon Mountain. You have opportunity to see a lot of wild animals and birds such as tiger, Asia elephant, gaur, kting voar….and explore this tropical jungle.


    Floating Village Of Lake Tonle Sap

    From Pursat, you could rent a boat and visit Kampong Phluk – the floating village with its stilt houses and see how the local people are leaving there and explore their daily life.

    As an option you can visit Prek Toal – UNESCO-protected area of Tonle Sap which safeguards a wealth of birdlife.

    Another Tonle Sap highlight is the flooded mangrove forest where you could discover the ecosystems of lake.
