Begin the Angkor explorations with a leisurely visit to the iconic Angkor Wat via ‘tuk tuk’. Built in the early 12th century, Angkor Wat was built to symbolise Mount Meru, the home of the gods. Inside the temple, the walls are covered with stone carvings, bas-reliefs, and more than 2,000 Apsara dancers. It is thought the construction of this national icon (which finds itself at the heart of the Cambodian flag) to have taken around thirty years of intensive labor to complete. After the Angkor explorations, return to the hotel to relax for the evening. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Begin the day on a scenic cycling tour on flat and easy road through the beautiful Cambodian countryside, rice fields and villages, stopping for refreshment breaks and to chats with the locals. The tour will be fully supported by a backup vehicle, so for those who don’t want to continue the journey on two wheels at a certain part of the trip, they can simply hop in the private vehicle.
Arrive in Kampong Phluck, a village where houses are built on stilts, which become submerged in the waters of Tonle Sap Lake during the monsoon season (a time when the lake swells to over four times its normal size!) Boat an interesting boat trip on the lake, where there will be an opportunity to learn about life on the water. Pass by floating houses and impressive flooded forests, portraying the unique life on the water. Enjoy a picnic lunch prepared on one of the local houses.
Note: The boat trip is only operated from June to March and not possible in other months due to low water levels. An alternative floating village at Chong Kneas can be arranged instead.

A notable feature of this temple is the magnificent bas reliefs on the outside of the inner sanctuary walls. Almost every step within this vast ruin gives its visitors another fabulous picture of stone being consumed by nature. It is a stunning sight with its Bayon Style towers, walls and enclosures cloaked with vegetation.
In the afternoon, board a local mean of transport called ‘kuyon’ (similar to a tractor), traveling Khmer style amongst some lovely scenery to the top of Banteay temple to enjoy the sunset. In the evening, enjoy a simple but memorable dinner at the temple. Overnight in a homestay in Banteay Chhmar.
